At Bevy we have deep experience growing event programs and building community from the ground up powering events for companies like Atlassian, Duolingo, Docker, and others. Bevy was created as an internal solution for Startup Grind, a global community of entrepreneurs. After growing to 150 cities in 2 years, all the available tools stopped working, so we built our own. Fast forward to today, Startup Grind is now approaching 450 cities in 110+ countries, a rate of growth that would not have been possible without Bevy. We are a distributed company and strive to be as diverse as the people using our products.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about community building, focused on results with a growth mindset, and detailed oriented in order to ensure communication and event activations are smooth and deliver high NPS (net promoter scores). This is a great opportunity to learn the ropes of this startup and develop and maintain our community events program.  As part of a lean startup team, you’ll be given responsibilities and opportunities that would take a while to reach at any large organization.


  • Position Bevy as the leader in customer to customer marketing

  • Drive growth by increasing the number of chapters and members to create a support network for professionals in the C2C space.

  • Build brand recognition and feed qualified leads into Bevy’s top of funnel marketing strategy.

  • Organizing and Managing monthly event activations and budget (food & beverage, venue, swag, signage, etc…).

  • Recruit and retain chapter leads / organizers (who will ultimately be responsible for local event activations (setup, check-in, teardown, etc…)

  • Managing group leader relationships and respond to inbound emails / communications

  • Chapter and member management, including outreach, engagement, event promotion, analytics and insights

  • Develop knowledge base including field guides, monthly newsletter, slack channel, and blogs focused on growth and development of chapter leads

Skills and Experience

  • 3-4 years of experience managing communities and or live events

  • Highly organized with ability to track multiple details and deadlines without letting things fall through the cracks

  • Understanding of key community metrics with proven results driving growth and ROI

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business or related field

  • Analytical and presentation skills with proficiency in key business software and communication tools (G Suite, WordPress, CRM tools and Slack)

  • Experience with community platforms such as Discourse, Meetup and Eventbrite

Reporting and team structure

This is a great opportunity for someone who has excellent communication skills, is fun and collaborative, and able to work remotely. You should be passionate about community outreach and exploring new ways to challenge yourself and inspire our community. We’re a small (but growing team) so you’ll be reporting to the VP of Marketing and working directly with a cross functional team of experts in Growth, Customer Success, Sales, Operations, Product and UX.
